MediaControl is an applet for the KDE 3 panel (also known as kicker) which allows the user to control his favourite media player with a single click.
The applet is constructed in a very modular way which makes it easy for developers to add support for other players. It doesn’t use a plugin-architecture though as that would be overkill for such a small tool (besides compiling a new version is really fast).
Players currently supported:
- Noatun (part of KDE 3)
- XMMS
- Amarok
- JuK (part of KDE 3)
- Music Player Daemon
- KsCD (part of KDE 3)
Note: MediaControl is a part of KDE 3 and can be found inside the kdeaddons or kicker-applets package so there’s no separate download here anymore.
